TOEFL Exam Type

Generally, TOEFL test has two exam types: PBT and iBT, along with TOEFL assessments like TOEFL Junior and IPT.

TOEFL  PBT (Paper Based Test)

The TOEFL PBT (Paper-based examination), being one of the most prevalent versions of the TOEFL exam, is offered in offline mode. TOEFL iBT (Internet-Based Test)

TOEFL iBT (internet based test) assesses all four English skills of a candidate such as reading, listening, speaking, and writing. TOEFL Home Edition

The TOEFL iBT Home Edition is virtually identical to the TOEFL iBT. However, it is done at home with a human proctor watching through a web camera (which is commonly installed on most laptops) and screen sharing. The Home Edition grew in popularity during the COVID-19 epidemic since it was the sole alternative during lockdowns.
