What is PTE?

The PTE exam is flexible as it allows the students to choose the date and time as per their preference for more than 400 centers.

Types of PTE

PTE Exam Type	Description
PTE Academic	PTE Academic is 2 hours and includes sections like speaking & writing, reading and listening. Students take this exam to study and work in English-speaking countries. The exam is usually conducted in the months of February, May, June, October, November and December. The exam scores are valid for two years. Most of the Australian universities accept PTE academic. The duration of the PTE academic exam is 1.5 to 3 hours with three sections speaking & writing, reading and listening.
PTE General	PTE General is divided into two sections, which are writing and speaking. This exam is used to work and study in non-English speaking European regions. The exam scores are valid forever. The duration of PTE General is 3 hours. There are six levels of proficiency in PTE General which are Foundation, Elementary, Intermediate, Upper-Intermediate, Advanced (Operational Proficiency) and Proficient (Mastery).
PTE Academic Online	This exam is designed for students who can’t find any test centre and want to take the test from the comfort of their homes. The exam pattern is the same as PTE academic. The duration of the exam is 1 hour. Students don’t need to worry about the security of the exam as it takes various measures into account such as ID checks, live proctor, locker browser and AI monitoring.

How to Prepare for PTE

After choosing the PTE exam to study in Australian Universities the next step is to prepare for it. Here is a list of tips students can use to prepare for PTE 2024 and get the required PTE score for the chosen university.

• Time allowed for each section
