Describe a Competition You Would Like to Take Part in is one of the IELTS speaking cue cards that come in the IELTS speaking test. Introduction

In today’s time, we are all surrounded by competition. Earlier, I used to take part in debate and drawing competitions. This time, I tried something new.

What kind of competition is it?

Chitkara University, Rajpura, has a lot of extracurricular clubs. One of them is Toastmasters Club. I will take part in the International speech contest, where there will be around 100 participants.

What would you do in this competition?

I will be giving a 15-minute speech on my chosen topic and will be evaluated based on various parameters such as my voice, body language, gestures, eye contact, confidence, etc.

Why does this competition interest you?

It is one of the biggest competitions organized by the Toastmasters Club, which will help me to improve my public speaking skills and confidence.

Conclusion

I am confident that I will be able to showcase my public speaking skills. Also, I am looking forward to winning the international speech contest.

Although I have participated in several competitions, such as singing, debate and dancing, I would like to take part in a competition based on literature.

It’s a poetry competition held by the Chandigarh Writers Club every year, allowing every budding writer to showcase their creativity.

I am going to recite one of my poetries based on nature. Around 50 writers from the whole city will be competing to become the best writer of the month.

Why does this competition interest you?

This is something which will help me to connect with writers like me. I will learn from them and improve my writing skills.

Literature is a subject that needs to be encouraged from time to time. Nowadays, not many people insist on writing and going away from literature. This competition will help raise awareness for the poetries and poems and encourage writers to write and create more.

Introduction

Dance is one of the best exercises that relieves our mind. It is something which anybody can do effortlessly and feel happy instantly.

What kind of competition is it?

Every year, my university organizes a dance competition where hundreds of students compete and showcase their dance style. The performers can either dance individually or with their partners.

What would you do in this competition?

This time, I decided to dance to one of the Hindi songs of Bollywood. I will dance with one of my friends who is a professional dancer.

Why does this competition interest you?

This competition interests me because I dance regularly, making myself stress-free. Also, the competition winner will get a prize of Rs. 50000.

Conclusion

Dance makes me feel alive, and it’s something that definitely keeps me going in a world full of chaos and rush. I look forward to showcasing my dancing skills to the whole campus and winning this competition.
