Bournemouth University - Talbot Campus University Overview

Bournemouth University is a public university in Bournemouth, England, with its main campus situated in neighbouring Poole. The university was founded in 1992; however, the origins of its predecessor date back to the early 1900s.

Bournemouth University has more than 19,000 students and we are ranked as one of the top 100 young universities in the world, but our ambition doesn’t stop there.

Our vision of Fusion brings together these three key elements of education, research and practice, creating something which is greater than the sum of its parts. Through the impact of our research and education, and the contribution of our staff, students and graduates, we are able to deliver the third aspect of our purpose, to enrich society.

Bournemouth University benefits from a wonderful location, situated between one of the UK’s newest national parks, officially the best beach in Britain (according to TripAdvisor, 2018) and the second largest natural harbour in the world, with the World Heritage Jurassic Coast located nearby. Good transport links means that London is only two hours away.

Bournemouth University plays its part in this local economy, contributing over £1 million per day to the South West region. We employ around 1,800 staff and we are investing 250 million in our buildings, IT and facilities between 2012 and 2020.
