Besides these, students are also expected to prove their English Language proficiency by taking either IELTS or TOEFL exams.

Germany Student Visa Guide
In order to stay in Germany for more than 90 days as a student, you need to get a residence permit. Also, you will need to prove that you have financials to support you for a year. You need to show approximately 11,500 for a year. Keep in mind that the residence permit is valid for two years and needs to be renewed if the duration of the course is longer than the stated time.
Cost of Visa
The cost of the Residence Permit is 110 (approximately). The permit usually takes 2-3 months to get issued. Therefore, it is advisable to apply for it as soon as possible.
Documents
Students have to apply for their student visa in person. The visa fee is around 65, and it has to be paid in Indian rupees only. In addition to it, students must provide two sets of application documents:
- A Valid passport
- Copy of first and last page of your passport
- An application form
- A declaration stating that all the information provided by you is accurate and complete
- Cover Letter stating the reason for your visa application. You may also be required to submit a German translation of the same.
- Letter of acceptance from a German University
- Certified copy of your Certificates and transcripts and mark sheets
- Proof of Language Proficiency, both English and German.
- Proof of funds to cover your stay in the country
- 3 passport size pictures not older than 6 months
- Demand Draft
How to apply for a German study permit
- As soon as you receive your acceptance letter from a German academic institute. Start preparing your necessary documentation required by the visa office.
- Get hold of your photos strictly according to the biometric photos requirements.
- Fill out the Application form carefully and adequately for National Visa. After filling, take its print out, sign it, and submit it along with the other specified documents.
- Schedule an appointment for your visa interview at the German embassy.
