Deakin College’s Diploma of Engineering is a broad introductory course that will prepare you with the skills and knowledge for a full spectrum of opportunities in the field.

Choose to specialise in civil, electrical and electronics, environmental, mechanical or mechatronics engineering when you enter second year of your Deakin University bachelor degree.


Leading to: Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)
Go beyond the classroom with Deakin’s future-focused Bachelor of Engineering (Honours). Get the skills and hands-on experience to create innovative solutions to real-world engineering problems.

Develop the knowledge and expertise to enter professional engineering practice in civil, environmental, electrical and electronics, mechanical or mechatronics engineering.

Through industry-informed projects you'll combine theory with contemporary practice to develop the skills needed to confidently design, construct and maintain engineering systems.

Major: Electrical and Electronics Engineering
With a particular emphasis on power, energy, electronics design and communication technologies this major prepares you with the skills and experience required to confidently tackle modern engineering challenges. Whether you study on campus or online, you will have access to the latest electrical and electronics engineering tools and application software - from renewable energy, power systems and high-voltage (HV) labs, to Deakin's microgrid facility with battery storage, visualisation and control centre.
