Diploma of Health Sciences

The Diploma of Health Sciences can gain you direct entry into second year of Deakin University bachelor degrees in Exercise and Sports Science, Health Sciences, Nutrition Science, Psychological Science, Public Health and Health Promotion, and Biomedical Science. This Diploma will give you a comprehensive understanding of the health of individuals, communities and populations, so that you are prepared to enter a wide variety of undergraduate courses.


Leading to: Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science
Develop the skills to become a professional leader in exercise and sport science and allied fields, with a focus on the biological, sociological and behavioural bases of exercise and sport science. Learn in world-class facilities at our Elite Sports Precinct in Geelong and Specialised Indoor Exercise and Sport Science building in Burwood. The course includes 220 hours of practical experience – more than any comparable accredited program in Victoria – meaning you'll graduate job-ready with an advantage.

Students taking a nutrition major will gain a sound knowledge of the biological basis of human nutrition and the relationship between diet, health and disease.
