Program Benefits

• For students studying in Adelaide, once you achieve your required progression score, you are guaranteed entry to your packaged degree, and, for most bachelor’s degrees, you won’t need to provide any further English language evidence.
• For students studying in Melbourne, after completing your Foundation Studies Program, you will continue your pathway studies as a University of Adelaide College student undertaking a Degree Transfer Program.
• We will ensure that you understand all the additional entry requirements for dentistry, oral health, medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology and veterinary science.
• The University will issue you a packaged Confirmation of Enrolment for the entire duration of study at the College and the University.
• You will be flexible in studying a standard (34 teaching weeks) or accelerated (31 teaching weeks) Foundation Studies Program. In addition to weekly class attendance, students are also expected to complete 20-25 hours per week of independent learning.

Major: Accounting and Marketing

Accounting
Accounting is the processes of organising, synthesising and presenting financial information for use in financial decision making. A sound knowledge of these processes is essential for the successful management of any business. Studying the major/minor in accounting provides students with a strong foundation in each of these processes. This major is designed for students who wish to gain professional accounting qualifications. There are sixteen courses within the academic plan that are compulsory for an accounting qualification plus an additional six broadening electives and a compulsory capstone in Accounting Theory and Financial Statement Analysis.

Marketing
The art of persuasion. Advertisements, newsletters, jingles, web campaigns—marketing uses media to give customers confidence in their decisions. It’s crucial to any brand’s recognition, reputation and growth. Marketers are strategists and relationship builders. It’s their job to know what people want and to reach out in innovative ways.

Marketing develops business and media skills relevant across all industries.
