PFH Private University of Applied Sciences - Hansecampus Stade Campus Overview

PFH Private University of Applied Sciences was recognized by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture in 1995, which means that it is Lower Saxony's oldest private, state-recognized university. The incentive for its foundation was the idea of providing fresh impetus in the fields of science and teaching with a purely privately funded university that offers a study program aligned to the real needs of the economy. In 2007, PFH received institutional accreditation from the Central Evaluation and Accreditation Agency (ZEvA). At the end of 2018, PFH received institutional reaccreditation from the German Council of Science and Humanities.

The university has since been actively contributing to securing Germany's position as a science and business location through its intensive training of qualified new managerial blood. PFH meets these high aspirations through a consistent orientation towards practical experience, through its marked internationality, and by developing innovative teaching programs.

In January 2023, 4,800 students were enrolled in one of the 49 study programs in Management, Engineering Sciences, Psychology and Business Psychology, Business Law, Technology, or in Healthcare Technology. They study either at one of the two campus locations in Göttingen or Stade or at one of the distance-learning centers located across Germany, Austria, and Spain.

Hansecampus Stade Campus

With the establishment of the engineering science study programs in lightweight engineering & composites by the PFH, Stade has been Lower Saxony's youngest university town since October 2006.

PFH Hansecampus Stade is located in the Ottenbeck quarter in the immediate vicinity of Stade Technology Centre, in which companies like Airbus, EADS, and the Fraunhofer Institute work on developing fiber composite structures for use in aircraft construction, shipping, and vehicle construction. On an area of 3,000 square meters, the PFH's campus provides a lecture theatre for around 140 students, numerous other seminar rooms and laboratories boasting state-of-the-art equipment, office rooms and meeting rooms for professors and lecturers, and the University's own dining hall.
