Foundation Studies Program (Standard)

Foundation Studies programs are a direct academic pathway to first-year undergraduate degree study. The programs act as a bridging course for international students who wish to study a university undergraduate degree course but don’t yet meet academic requirements and/or have the English language skills for tertiary study.

Successful completion of a Foundation Studies Program allows students to progress to Bachelor of Business at the University of Tasmania.

 

Leading to: Bachelor of Business

The Bachelor of Business at the University of Tasmania offers a learning experience that is deeply connected to place, purpose, and possibility. Set against the backdrop of one of the world’s most pristine environments, this degree equips you with the knowledge and skills to thrive in complex, evolving markets — both locally and globally.

You’ll explore Tasmania’s growing industries, including energy, agriculture, and tourism, and learn to navigate the current economic climate through real-world projects and data-driven decision-making. Guided by leading researchers and supported by insights from industry professionals, you’ll gain practical experience in areas such as financial and investment analysis, corporate advisory, and investment banking.

 

Major: Hospitality Management

This major is only available to those students entering the Bachelor of Business via the approved Hospitality Management pathway.

Students entering the Bachelor of Business via the approved Hospitality Management pathway are granted Advanced Standing towards the major on the basis of their completed pathway qualification and will then complete a selection of advanced level units to complete the major.
