Prepare to succeed in the fast-paced financial sector with South Australia’s most established finance degree.
With a focus on making financial decisions and the markets and organisations where these occur, you will develop a dynamic understanding of the complex finance industry as part of your degree. You will gain knowledge in areas such as investment banking and funds management, and have the chance to learn in our state-of-the-art Iress Trading Room on campus.
We know that employers value graduates with industry experience, so there are opportunities to embed work-integrated learning into your degree through an internship, and mentorship, as well as an overseas exchange.
What you'll learn
You will start with core courses in areas such as analytics, accounting and economic theory. These will give you a solid grasp of business fundamentals that you can apply to a range of careers.
In your specialisation you will focus on finance and financial markets. Specific areas include financial markets and institutions: international currency and banking markets; portfolio and fund management; macroeconomics; corporate valuation; and financial risk analysis and management.
You can also embark on an overseas study tour, undertake an industry placement, or work on an industry-related research project.

Scholarships
Vice Chancellor’S International Excellence Scholarship
We are pleased to advise that students can apply for our prestigious Vice Chancellor’s International Excellence Scholarships, for First Semester 2025 from Monday 16th September 2024.
- Recipients receive a 50% reduction in their student contributions (tuition fees) for up to four years of full-time study
- Students who meet the eligibility criteria are invited to complete a Scholarship application form and include this with their UniSA application
- Eligible students who have not provided a completed Scholarship application will be invited to apply at the point of University entry assessment (assuming scholarship places are still available)
Scholarship Criteria:
- Be a prospective international student
- Be eligible to study in Australia
- Not have accepted any other UniSA scholarship or bursary
- Have achieved the UniSA equivalent of a High Distinction average in previous studies
- Meet the minimum English language entry requirements for the program applied into
- Meet normal program admission requirements for the program applied into
International Merit Scholarship
Recipients will receive a 15% reduction in their student contributions (tuition fees) for the duration of their chosen degree
