The Health Sciences program provides a good grounding in the many disciplines that exist within the field of health science. While the main focus is on biological and biochemical subjects, your studies will extend into chemistry, cell biology and anatomy. You will develop strong foundations for entry into the second year of a number of Griffith University degree level programs in health sciences.

If you study this degree at the Gold Coast campus, you'll follow a health-oriented curriculum with strong links to clinical practice and community health. If you wish to study at the South Brisbane (Nathan) campus, you'll undertake a science-focused program and should apply for the Bachelor of Biomedical Science (1031). Across both campuses, you'll benefit from authentic cadaver-based anatomy learning, lab-first teaching and close connections to hospitals and research centres.

Designed for students aiming for clinical, allied health or medical pathways, this health-focused degree gives you a strong foundation in human anatomy, physiology, pharmacology and disease processes. You'll explore integrated systems physiology, molecular genetics and the molecular basis of disease.

From your first year, you'll develop the confidence and practical competence to work confidently in real lab and health settings, designed to prepare you for clinical and health science workplaces. In your final year, the BioHealth Project capstone connects you with industry or community partners to tackle real health challenges, providing realistic, multi-pathway preparation for careers in medicine, physiotherapy, pharmacy and other health professions.
