Program Overview

Degree Transfer Extended Program - Construction Management (Building)
In your first semester of your Degree Transfer Extended program, you will study a bridging program consisting of five courses: Academic English, Accounting, Economics, Commercial Law Fundamentals and Statistics. You will then go on to study the same curriculum as the Year 1 bachelor’s degree university students plus Academic English A and B, and receive 80 credit points for the Bachelor of Construction Management (Building) (Honours).

Upon successful completion of the Degree Transfer Extended Construction Management (Building) program, you will enter Year 2 of the Bachelor of Construction Management (Building) (Honours) at the University of Newcastle. The total study period of the Degree Transfer and the Bachelor plus Honours component is four years.

Leading to: Bachelor of Construction Management - Building (Honours)
Construction management graduates work in a range of leadership roles in the industry. This includes project management, contract management, quantity surveying, estimating, building surveying, building certification, facilities management, property development and WHS. Manage physical building and infrastructure projects either onsite or from an office.

Construction managers lead and coordinate design and construction processes. They liaise with clients and consultants, and select, hire and supervise various contractors. They’re also responsible for managing the legal and financial aspects of the project.

This program has a high level of professional recognition both in Australia and overseas. Our flexible delivery options allow you to study by distance or work in the industry while completing your degree. Engage only with practical assessments, rather than exams. Study part-time or full-time. Study on-campus, online or a combination of both.

    CIE Program Scholarships

    Excellence Scholarships* - A$10,000/year
    Available to students from the following regions once progressed to their University degree:
    Africa, ASEAN, South Asia, or based Onshore (any nationality).
    OR

    International Excellence Scholarships* - A$15,000/year           
    Available to students once progressed into specific:

    • IT & Computer Science programs
    • Management, Accounting and Finance programs


    Eligibility:
    To be eligible for all Excellence scholarships:

    • Foundation Studies and Express Preparation Program students need to achieve an average mark of 67%;
    • Degree Transfer and Degree Transfer Extended students need to achieve an average mark of 50%; and
    • Pre-Master’s students will need to achieve a Credit average when progressing into their University degrees.


    Rest of the World Scholarship – 10% off tuition fees/year

    • Students who do not meet the above eligibility requirements but have met the minimum progression requirements will get 10% tuition fee reduction per year –worth up to A$17,575 over 4 years.
