Foundation Studies Program Accelerated

Our Foundation Studies Program provides you with a pathway to follow your dreams of studying business, IT, engineering, medicine, nursing and much more at university. Students commencing at the College in 2025 will have guaranteed entry into the new Adelaide University upon successful completion of the the Foundation Studies Program.
 

Program Benefits

  • For students studying at the College, once you achieve your required progression score, you are guaranteed entry to your packaged degree, and, for most bachelor’s degrees, you won’t need to provide any further English language evidence.
  • We will ensure that you understand all the additional entry requirements for Medicine, Dentistry, Midwifery, Nursing, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy.
  • The program is streamed, allowing you to choose subjects to suit your bachelor degree choice.
  • You will be issued with a packaged Confirmation of Enrolment for the entire duration of study at the College and the University.
  • In addition to weekly class attendance, students are also expected to complete 20-25 hours per week of independent learning.

Major: Space Science and Astrophysics

If you’re naturally curious about how the universe works, from the formation of stars to the behaviour of galaxies, then this degree is for you. Our Bachelor of Science majoring in Space Science and Astrophysics provides core training in the disciplines of astronomy and space science, with a strong emphasis on physics.

From the Earth’s atmosphere to the most distant regions of our cosmos, explore the universe and how it behaves. You'll cover fundamental physics principles and concepts, including mechanics, electromagnetism, quantum mechanics, and thermal and statistical physics. You’ll investigate physical phenomena by setting up experiments, collecting and analysing data, and interpreting results.

Prepare to challenge your mathematical prowess with rigorous courses in linear algebra, calculus and differential equations – pushing your analytical skills to new heights. Explore the wonders of astronomical science, including highlights of modern exploration and the open questions in astronomy. Study star formation, stellar structure, supernovae, pulsars and more. Typically, this involves making optical observations with telescopes, or using data from satellite and ground observatories to study extreme astronomical environments.

In addition to individual study, you'll collaborate in small groups to tackle problems in astrophysics research, fostering teamwork skills and building your ability to apply complex concepts to real-world scenarios.     Scholarships

    The University of Adelaide College International Scholarship rewards the international graduates of the University of Adelaide College.

     

    This scholarship is:

    • Available for graduates of the University of Adelaide College commencing at the University of Adelaide.
    • Open to citizens of any country (except Australia and New Zealand); and
    • Provides a waiver of 10% of the annual tuition fee for each year of the program for the full duration of the degree.

     

    Value
    The scholarship offers a 10% tuition fee reduction for the minimum standard full-time duration of the scholar's chosen undergraduate or postgraduate degree.

     

    Eligibility
    To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

    • Be a graduate of the University of Adelaide College;
    • Have a University of Adelaide offer of admission (full offer or conditional offer) as a full-fee-paying international student;
    • Enrol in a full time study load for each study period of the degree;
    • Complete the acceptance process as outlined in your offer of admission.

    Note: Scholarship applicants who are eligible for more than one scholarship offered by the University of Adelaide will only be entitled to receive one scholarship (the highest value scholarship award for which they are eligible).

     

    Exclusions
    The following applicants are not eligible to receive these scholarships:

    • Current University of Adelaide students who are transferring from one degree to another prior to successful completion of their program of study (internal transfers)
    • Students who are recipients of a scholarship covering tuition fees awarded by a recognised scholarship awarding body such as a government ministry or department
    • Applicants for Masters by Research or Phd programs;
