Program Overview

Foundation Program

Designed specifically for international students, the UWA Foundation program will help students improve their subject knowledge and English language skills. Students can progress to Year 1 of any undergraduate degree at The University of Western Australia (UWA) upon successful completion to the required level.

Leading to: Bachelor of Modern Languages / Bachelor of Biomedical Science

The combined Bachelor of Modern Languages and Bachelor of Biomedical Science will enable you to develop high levels of competency in one language and functional levels of competency in a second language, while equipping you with the practical skills and essential knowledge to impact the health of people and populations.

You'll be taught by world-class researchers in cutting-edge laboratories and tutorial rooms at UWA's main campus and at the Queen Elizabeth II hospital campus as well as have access to a wide range of international exchange programs.

Major: German Studies

Whatever plans you have for the future, studying German will increase your options. This major caters for students at all levels, from absolute beginners to native speakers. It offers a wide perspective as you will explore not only centuries of German history and culture, but also contemporary film and media, as well as Germany’s profound impact on the sciences, music and philosophy, both in Europe and around the world. Social history and culture are studied from the many centuries of the German literary tradition – prose, poetry and drama, music, film and advertising.
