Foundation Program

Designed specifically for international students, the UWA Foundation program will help students improve their subject knowledge and English language skills. Students can progress to Year 1 of any undergraduate degree at The University of Western Australia (UWA) upon successful completion to the required level.

 

Leading to: Bachelor of Agricultural Science / Master of Agricultural Science

By completing this combined bachelor’s and master’s course you will graduate with both a Bachelor of Agricultural Science and a Master of Agricultural Science.

In your first three years you will complete the Agricultural Science and Technology (Extended Major) which will develop critical thinking skills in the traditional agricultural sciences and emerging digital technologies, followed by a semester of postgraduate study.

You will then complete a final year of postgraduate study in the Master of Agricultural Science. The master's component of the course is highly inter-disciplinary. You will be guided through a research project and will gain skills in data analysis, interpretation and communication of their findings. The course will provide a rigorous understanding of agricultural systems and how to maintain or increase production levels in a more sustainable manner. This course prepares you with the knowledge and skills you need for a future in the rapidly evolving field of agricultural science and technology.

General Admission Requirement

    Academic Requirement

    Minimum Level of Education Required: To be accepted for this program, students must have one of the following:

    • Completion of Senior School Certificate Examination Year 12 from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) with an average 45% in four academic subjects and a passing grade in mathematics equivalent to Australian Year 10 High School
    • Completion of Year 12 from state boards with an average 50% in four academic subjects and a passing grade in mathematics equivalent to Australian Year 10 High School
    • Completion of Year 11 in CBSE and CISCE Boards with an overall average of 80% in academic subjects and a passing grade in mathematics equivalent to Australian Year 10 High School
    • Completion of Indian School Certificate Year 12 from Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) with an average 45% in four academic subjects and a passing grade in mathematics equivalent to Australian Year 10 High School
