- Complete the DS–160 visa application form, including personal details, travel history, and a detailed plan of study.
How to Apply for F-1 Visa?
You have been accepted into a SEVP-certified institution and received your I-20 form. Now, you are ready to move ahead with the application process for the F-1 student visa. Follow these steps:
- Your first order of task is to pay the SEVIS fee. The total cost of your F-1 student visa will be approximately $535 ($350 SEVIS+$185 visa) including SEVIS processing and MRV fee.
- Complete the DS 160 form by uploading your I-20 form, a copy of the passport, a travel itinerary, and a photograph for the visa.
- Book your biometric and visa appointment at the US consulate. Make sure the date to submit biometrics is before the date of the interview.
- Schedule your visa interview at the US Embassy in Delhi or consulates in Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, and Hyderabad.
