University of Bradford Overview

The University of Bradford is an open university that began as a mechanics institute in 1832. In 1966, the plate-glass university got official recognition and became England's 40th university. The institution, which has a history dating back to the early 1800s, today has two campuses, one on Emm Lane and the other on Richmond Road.

At the University of Bradford, our focus is on creating the conditions for social, cultural, and economic impact. We are committed to social inclusion and our work to expand opportunity and enable students to reach their potential has led to us topping the Social Mobility Index of English universities for the last two years.
