The MSc is fully aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, and it puts emphasis on sustainability and resilience in civil engineering infrastructure design and assessment.
What you will study
Our fully accredited MSc will help you acquire advanced capabilities and in-depth knowledge across a range of civil engineering disciplines, including structural engineering, infrastructure management, geotechnical engineering and water/environmental engineering. This allows you to tailor your masters according to your aspirations.
This course offers six study streams:
- Bridge engineering
- Infrastructure engineering and management
- Geotechnical engineering
- Structural engineering
- Water/environmental engineering.
If you are an engineer working in the construction industry and you hold a related degree, such as engineering geology or construction management, this course will provide you with the opportunity to expand on your existing knowledge and skills.
It is also designed to update the technical skills of practising engineers engaged in the planning, design, construction and operation of civil engineering works.

Scholarships
International Excellence Award scholarship for September 2026 for India - PG
Scholarship Details
- The Partners Award can be combined with the International Excellence Award, with a total scholarship value of up to GBP 7,000.
Eligibility & Conditions
- Applicable only for Indian students.
- Valid for postgraduate applicants only.
- Students must pay the deposit within 10 working days of receiving the scholarship.

Exceptions
The following programmes are not eligible under this scheme:
- MBA
- MSc Pharmaceutical Science
- MSc Biotechnology
- MSc Food Nutrition
Special Note
- As a one-time exception, students who have already paid their deposit but are still at the pre-CAS stage may be nominated during the first week of the scheme.
Scholarships
- International Excellence Award: £5000
- Open to all students, for all courses except Pharmaceutical Science MSc

- Pharmaceutical Science MSc: £2000 scholarship
- Deadline details will be included in the offer letter.
- Dean’s Award (Bangladesh only): £2000
- Counselors can nominate students via email with reasons for why Additional scholarship is required
- This is stackable with the IEA for a total of £7000.
- Vice-Chancellor’s Future Leaders Award: £7500
- Application-based; assessed by a scholarship panel.
- Based on academic performance, predicted grades (if applicable), and personal statement.
