What's the course about?
This BA (Hons) Sociology course has a thread of activism connecting all modules. It provides you with an in-depth and practically applied grasp of the theories, methods and subjects of sociology. You'll cover a vast array of topical areas, including migration, crime, health, social policy, the climate emergency, contemporary social movements, and constructions of gender, ‘race’ and sexuality. 

With a focus on current social issues, you will develop your skills in critical and creative thinking.     PG students 

    • Super Early Bird Payment Scholarship – £3,500 ( PG only ) 

    Students who pay their deposit before this date will receive a £3,500 Super Early Bird Scholarship.

    How It Works:

    • Pay a minimum £1,000 deposit before 15th June to secure the scholarship and confirm the place. 
    • Top up a further £4,000 before the CAS deadline (31st July) to receive the CAS letter.
    • Additional £1,000 Cash Back/ Discount: Students who pay their full tuition fees before or at registration will receive an extra £1,000 full tuition fee payment discount.

    Total Savings Opportunity:

    • £4,500 total savings (for students paying full tuition fees before or at registration).
    • £3,500 scholarship (for students choosing the installment plan).

    UG Tri Annual Scholarship – £2,000 Per Year (Undergraduate Only)

    This scholarship provides £2,000 off tuition fees each year for eligible international undergraduate students joining the University for the first time in September 2026.
    It is awarded automatically and continues each year of study upon successful progression (not for retakes or re-joins).

    Regarding Scholarship Deadline for SEP 2026 intake:-

    Full payment discount

    Full-time students who pay their full tuition fees by a set deadline during registration can receive a £1,000 discount for the 2026/27 academic year.

    Chancellor's International Scholarship

    This scholarship offers a variable award from £500 to £4,000 for new international undergraduate or postgraduate taught students joining the UK campus in September 2026.

    Awards are based on academic performance, English language ability, personal statement quality, and personal circumstances. No separate application is needed.

    Not available for:

    • pre-sessional English, Research degrees, HIC or online courses
    • University of Hertfordshire or HIC graduates
    • prepatory programmes

    Additional conditions:

    • only for first-time entrants in September 2026
    • unless exceptionally approved by the University, it cannot be combined with;

(Any contribution by an external organisation to the student's living costs, or a contribution from the student's family to the fee or living costs, does not count as sponsorship under this scheme.)
    • candidates will be required to meet all conditions of registration before the scholarship is awarded
