Do you dream of becoming a PhysEd teacher? This combined program allows you to complete two degrees – a Bachelor of Kinesiology, and a Bachelor of Education (Elementary) – in just five years.

By studying Kinesiology, you’ll gain expertise in human movement, exercise science, and athletic movement, preparing you for a variety of related careers in teaching and sport.

Students in the BKin/BEd Combined Degrees take a program of 150 units over five years. During this five-year program, Kinesiology courses and Education courses are studied concurrently. Students apply for admission to the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation and are registered in that Faculty for the first three years of the program. Students are registered in the Faculty of Education for the final two years

Bachelor of Kinesiology

The Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree is a specialized science degree with a specific focus in studying human movement as it relates to the enhancement of human performance, health promotion, and prevention and management of chronic disease.

Bachelor of Education

The Bachelor of Education Secondary program is a specialized program in which students will select a teachable major and minor. The program prepares students to instruct in these two subject areas in Grades 7-12. It consists of 120 units of course weight (*120) overall and a minimum of 14 weeks of student teaching

  • Minimum Level of Education Required: To be accepted into this program, applicants must have a Grade 12 / High School Diploma or equivalent, including the following required course(s):
    • English Language Arts 30-1
    • Subject from Group A or C
    • Subject from Group C
    • Subject from Group B, C, or Physical Education 30, or Recreation Leadership (REC) Advanced Level-Career and Technology Studies (CTS). Note: Only 5-credit courses will be used for admission purposes
