Develop fundamental skills in the high-demand welding trade
Canada has a growing demand for skilled welders, and Sheridan offers some of the top training in the GTA. You'll get in-depth hands-on education in current welding techniques — working with the most current technology — and study the theory at the same time. Learn shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) and flux-cored arc welding (FCAW).
Earn up to three Canadian Welding Bureau licences
Our one-year program gives you the chance to earn certifications with the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB). You may test in three welding processes in the flat position to obtain up to three licences. Tests take place on campus, which means testing in familiar surroundings. Sheridan welding students get a discounted rate, making this one of the most affordable ways to earn welding certifications.
Work in specialty labs with the most experienced faculty in the GTA
Experience hours of hands-on learning in labs that mirror the professional welding workplace. You'll learn from the most highly certi?ed welding faculty of any college in the Greater Toronto Area. Sheridan instructors bring decades of industry experience into their teaching. Small class sizes mean you'll get one-on-one mentorship with these instructors to help you succeed in class and at work.

Scholarships
International Entrance Scholarship
All new international students beginning their full-time postsecondary studies at Sheridan in Winter 2025, Spring 2025, Fall 2025, Winter 2026, or Spring 2026 semesters will receive an entrance scholarship ranging from $1,000 to $3,000.
Please Note:
- ESL is excluded.
- For Winter 2025 and Spring 2025 semesters, the entrance scholarship is awarded to Year 1, Semester 1 students only.
You will be notified of your exact scholarship amount with your Letter of Acceptance. These funds will be automatically added to your account. You must remain full-time in the semester for the instalment to be issued for that semester.
The International Entrance Scholarship does not require a separate application.
