International Year One (UTP Stage II): Engineering

International Year One (UTP Stage II): Engineering is equivalent to the first year of the UM’s Bachelor of Science (Engineering) degree. As the oldest engineering school in Western Canada, the Price Faculty of Engineering prepares graduates for leadership roles with a focus on design readiness and teamwork.


Leading to Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering

The mechanical engineering program is an accredited professional program providing education in basic sciences, mathematics and engineering sciences. Students acquire design skills for machines and processes based on the learned principles of mechanics, materials and energy.

Students entering the mechanical engineering program may specialize with an option in aerospace, or a stream in aerospace, materials, solid mechanics, or thermofluids. Students are urged to consult appropriate program requirements shown for each option/stream.

Scholarship Deadline: Indicated in the scholarship letter sent to the student after the letter of offer.

 

Entrance Scholarship Eligibility Terms and conditions
ICM is offering an entrance scholarship worth C$2,000 to new applicants who enroll in the Winter 2026 Intake. Students who meet the terms and conditions will automatically be considered—no separate entrance scholarship application is required. New students who apply for winter 2026 can be eligible to receive an entrance scholarship worth C$2,000.
  • New applicants to the Winter 2026 intake will receive an entrance scholarship letter alongside their Letter of Offer.
  • To be awarded the entrance scholarship, you must pay your minimum deposit before the expiry date on the entrance scholarship letter.
  • The scholarship will be awarded as a tuition credit and has no cash value.
  • The entrance scholarship cannot be combined with any other offers.
  • Must be enrolled at ICM by winter 2026 and must be a full-time, continuing student to qualify.
  • C$1,000 will be applied as a tuition credit after week four of the second term and C$1,000 after week four of the third term of your studies at ICM.
  • The entrance scholarship is for one of the Foundation (UTP Stage I) or International Year One (UTP Stage II) programs only.
