Applicants come from across Canada for the "triple threat skill set" of multimedia storytelling through digital photography, video capture, and news and feature-writing.
Photojournalism is a particular form of journalism (the collecting, editing, and presenting of news material for publication or broadcast) that employs images in order to tell a news story. ... Photojournalists create pictures that contribute to the news media, and help communities connect with one other.
Experiential Learning
Get a well-rounded set of skills through hands-on learning in our Digital Media Centre:
- Develop skills in reporting, writing, electronic publishing, camera operation and lighting.
- Get a deep understanding of news judgment and the principles of storytelling.
- Learn advanced photojournalism techniques in digital photography, video capture and computer-based image processing.
- Get hands-on experience working for Loyalist’s award-winning online community newspaper, the Pioneer.
- Photograph, report, write and edit assignments for the student-run online news service, QNet News.
