Program Overview

International Business Management
The one-year International Business Management program builds on the education and experience of students in business and commerce. It combines traditional classroom instruction with a variety of experiential learning techniques that help graduates prepare for success in the workplace.

Program Highlights

  • The current business environment in Canada is highly integrated with a rapidly changing global economy. A strong understanding of the international marketplace is essential for successful business managers.
  • This program features a broad approach that links traditional business disciplines with concepts in corporate social responsibility, diversity and innovation. The focus is building skills that will allow individual contributors to grow into managers.

Why Choose Fleming?

  • Fleming College provides a learning experience that is supported by faculty from a wide range of disciplines and industries. The College has strong local, regional and global ties and is highly attuned to the needs of the business community. Students will be in an environment that values academic excellence, as well as practical workplace skills, and has an extensive suite of support services.
  • Course material will be delivered using a variety of methods including traditional lectures, case studies, simulations, guest speakers and field trips.
  • There is a vibrant and fast-growing international student community, which provides a rich experience for domestic and international students.

Emergency Management and Business Continuity
Emergency Management and Business Continuity Professionals plan for, respond, and work to manage natural, technological and human-caused disasters. Acquire the knowledge, skills, and hands-on training to promote resilience and ensure enterprises and communities continue to function, recover and thrive.

Program Highlights
This program is the only one of its kind in Ontario. Our three-semester Emergency Management and Business Continuity program is ideally suited for working professionals and those interested in pursuing a new career in a dynamic and growing field. The program’s flexible delivery model, both online and in-person, means you can continue to work while pursuing advanced training.

You'll attend in-class experiential weekend sessions three times each semester at The Loomex Group (located at the Peterborough Airport), while the balance of course work is completed online. You will also put your skills to the test in a culminating applied project where you will develop and facilitate an Emergency Response Plan or Business Continuity Plan for a public or private organization.

Emergency Management and Business Continuity professionals are trained to prepare for loss of critical business functions. This can result from cyber-attack, data breaches, supply chain disruption, security incidents or natural disasters such as wildfires, flooding, pandemics, hazardous chemical spills, and other disasters that endanger the health, and the survivability of public and private organizations.

This program provides you with historical context while instilling a solid understanding of governance, legislation, and best practices. You will engage in emergency exercises, learning at an Emergency Operations Centre and a Site Command Centre. You will acquire the essential tools to prepare entities for the realities of business disruption and threats to community safety; along with plans for a smooth and timely recovery of affected services.

Our highly qualified faculty, a network of working professionals, and industry experience will provide you with the specialized training and support to be successful in the changing landscape of Emergency Management and Business Continuity. You will graduate in less than a year with the hands-on skills and certifications to advance your career or stand out in today’s competitive job market.

Entry-level Business Continuity Analysts’ salaries typically start around $60k; with experience and additional certifications, professionals working in the industry command six-figure salaries.
