Are you a hands-on individual looking for a fulfilling career in the automotive industry? Become an automotive service technician with this two-year program. As an Automotive Service technician, you will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose problems and repair vehicle systems.

What you will learn

The first year follows the Industry Training Authority (ITA) automotive service technician foundations course outline, and focuses on hands-on, physical skills development. You will complete a summer co-op work term between years one and two. In year two, you will gain the knowledge to work in the diagnostics and repair of various automotive areas:

  • automotive engines
  • braking
  • steering
  • suspension
  • restraint
  • hybrid
  • heating
  • ventilation
  • air conditioning
  • network control

    •     Successful completion of Foundations of Math and Pre-Calculus 10; or Math 030, or a minimum C grade in one of the following: Apprenticeship and Workplace Math 10 or Trades Math 041, or equivalent.
