You will learn to apply the technical accounting and software skills that employers value in this competitive job market.
Learning Outcomes
At the completion of the program students will be able to:
- Prepare financial information to support management decision-making.
- Prepare financial statements and related disclosures for organizations with low to medium levels of complexity and a low level of uncertainty.
- Help prepare more complex financial statements.
- Support the development and maintenance of the organization’s management control and risk management systems.
- Calculate and report on financial and non-financial performance measures.
- Monitor and recommend improvements to accounting procedures, accounting information systems and internal controls.
- Monitor cash flow and cash flow requirements to assist with effective business management.
- Prepare budgets and forecasts for review by senior management.
- Prepare information for external auditors.
- Support the auditor in planning and executing the audit with documentation and research.
- Help prepare tax filings, provisions, reports and disclosures and comply with remittance requirements.

Scholarships
The Camosun International Academic Advancement Scholarship acknowledges high academic achievement and community involvement. It is awarded annually to international students who have completed at least one year of full-time studies in an academic program at Camosun College.
To be eligible to apply for the Academic Advancement Scholarship, students must:
- Be an international student studying at Camosun College with a valid study permit,
- Have successfully completed at least two full-time semesters in an academic program by the scholarship application deadline,
- Have a GPA of 7.0 (A-) or higher,
- Have volunteered or been involved in projects that contribute to Camosun College student community and/or other communities in Victoria, and,
- Complete and submit the following documents to Camosun International:
- Scholarship Application Form
- A one page Cover Letter outlining your community involvement and/or volunteer activities
- A Reference Letter from your volunteer and/or community project supervisor

Dr. Gordon L. Diewert Community Service:
- Entrance Award Value: $1000 The award is granted annually in the Fall of each year for a first-year Camosun student attending full-time, on the basis of good academic high school performance (minimum B average in grade 12) and leadership and/or community service. The recipient must have demonstrated participation in volunteer activities associated with the prevention of drinking and driving. Preference will be given to a student who took a leadership role in their high school Dry Grad activities.
