Cleveland State University has carved a niche for itself owing to the exceptional student services made available to the students. There are a vast number of student services available at the Cleveland State University, which help the students both old and new in numerous different ways. The following are a few of them:
- THE VIKING CARD- A Viking Card is your official campus identification card. The card is required for all active members of the CSU community. A Viking Card is needed to use the library, gain admission to athletic events, borrow a laptop from Mobile Campus, use the Recreation Center, dine on a meal plan and more.
- VIKINGCASH- VikingCash is an on-line spending account run through your Viking Card with no interest or transaction fees. It lets you use your CSU ID like a debit card for convenient, secure purchases at CSU. Vikingcash balances stay in the Viking Card account from semester to semester and year to year while registered at CSU.
- VIKING OUTFITTERS- Viking Outfitters is your place for official Cleveland State University textbooks, clothing and supplies. Buy, rent or sell used and new textbooks, and find official Cleveland State University gear and gifts at the bookstore located inside the Student Center.
- HEALTH & WELLNESS SERVICES- CSU Health & Wellness Services is a high quality medical facility, nationally accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. We offer a wide variety of services, including primary and same day care, women’s health care, counseling, limited in-house pharmacy and laboratory services, allergy shots and immunizations, free anonymous HIV testing, health educational programming, and more.
- STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE- Cleveland State University is pleased to provide students with an affordable health insurance plan. Students are encouraged to consider enrollment in the Student Health Insurance Plan if they do not have other insurance or if their current insurance plan is with an HMO or restricted PPO out of the Cleveland area. Additionally, this plan covers students studying abroad.
- COUNSELING & TESTING- The Counseling Center offers free academic, career and personal counseling to CSU students. The Center is staffed by licensed mental health professionals and advanced graduate students under the close supervision of the professional staff. The services provided by the Center are confidential, within ethical and legal professional limits. Other services offered by the Center are couples counseling, group counseling, and workshops on a variety of topics including regularly scheduled study skills workshops.
- DISABILITY SERVICES- The Office of Disability Services is charged with determining who is an eligible person with a disability and coordinating the accommodation needs of individuals with disabilities. The office serves hundreds of students with a variety of disabilities including learning disabilities, chronic health conditions, attention deficit disorders, psychological conditions, visual impairments, mobility impairments, hearing impairments and more.
