Program Overview

Pre-Masters Programme in Business, Media and Social Sciences
The Pre-Masters Programme in Business, Media and Social Sciences provides a route to a variety of postgraduate degrees at the University of Sussex.

You can choose one of four pathways, based on your intended progression degree:

  • Business, Management and Finance
  • Law, International Relations and Social Sciences
  • Film and Media
  • Finance and Technology (FinTech)*

On all pathways, you will study a combination of general and specialist modules to improve your knowledge and skills to prepare you for postgraduate study.

What you’ll study
During the one-semester Pre-Masters Programme in Business, Media and Social Sciences you will study a combination of academic modules, specific to your pathway, and compulsory modules.

Once you complete your Pre-Masters Programme in Business, Media and Social Sciences and achieve the required grades, you can enter into the postgraduate degree at the University of Sussex.

Leading to: Project Management MSc

Become a first-rate project manager who can develop and apply new innovations. You’ll gain the critical skills to help you manage projects in today’s highly uncertain business and economic environment.

You’re taught and supervised by leading project management experts in the University of Sussex Business School. This course draws on expertise from SPRU – Science Policy Research Unit. Within an environment that values innovation and sustainability, you’ll learn to plan and manage projects effectively and efficiently. Gain a comprehensive understanding of, and develop core competencies in:

  • Managing complex projects
  • Managing risk and innovation
  • Applying design thinking for project management
  • Applying advanced project management practices.

Joining the University of Sussex Business School, you’ll benefit from extensive career support and business connections. This includes employer mentoring, networking, talks and guest lectures. You can also tailor your degree to your career path by choosing options in areas such as agile project management, artificial intelligence and innovation for sustainability.
