This course is aimed specifically for those wanting to work with children and/or families giving you the skills and knowledge to pursue or develop your career across a range of associated work settings. It runs alongside our MA Childhood Youth and Family Studies: Youth Work Pathway

The course provides a broad level of understanding relevant to areas such as early years; nursery worker or manager; family support worker or manager; child protection; and pastoral support roles in primary education.

You start by studying core areas looking at the range of experiences children young people and families may have; how professionals involved may be best placed to respond; effective and ethical practice; and the relevant theoretical frameworks that underpin practice. You can then follow your interests with a choice of optional units while building your research skills in preparation for your final research project.

    • On all Master’s degree courses, international students will receive the Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship, which is a reduction of £1000 off their first year’s fees.

    • We continually work to attract high calibre students.The International Undergraduate Merit Award is worth £1000 off international tuition fees for each year of study.

    A level and IB Scholarship for International Students

    • The University of Bedfordshire continually works to attract high calibre students, and in keeping with this we have introduced an A level and IB scholarship, worth £3000 off international tuition fees for each year of study.

    Prompt Payment Discount

    • A discount of £500 is available for prompt payment of each year’s fees in full, before or at the point of registration, for both undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes.

    International Scholarships
    In the first year only on either undergraduate or postgraduate degree courses, international students will receive a £1,000 VC Scholarship. An international student progressing to a higher level degree* will receive, in the first year only of the new course, both a £1,000 VC Scholarship and a £500 alumni discount. Additional discounts of £500 are available for prompt payment of the first year fees in full, before or at registration (undergraduate and postgraduate).
