Program Overview
This course allows you to develop a deep theoretical understanding and practical knowledge of tourism and aviation management. It will help you understand the changing nature of international tourism as it faces the challenge of rapid growth, emergence of new destinations, climate change, and the ethics of managing a business in which the prime attractions include the natural environment and people’s culture.
This innovative and interdisciplinary course provides you with a critical view of the broad range of global issues which affect how international tourism and aviation are organized and managed.
Topics include: management; heritage, cultural, social, environmental and political issues; and sustainable development.
This course will also provide you with a basic understanding of the nature, structure and organisation of the aviation and airport industry. It examines the key developments within aviation sectors and focuses on the component sectors of the industry and their operating characteristics.
The University of Bedfordshire is a member of The Association for Tourism in Higher Education (ATHE). ATHE is the subject association for tourism in higher education in the UK. It represents universities that are leading providers of tourism programmes.

- On all Master’s degree courses, international students will receive the Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship, which is a reduction of £1000 off their first year’s fees.
International Undergraduate Merit Award
- We continually work to attract high calibre students.The International Undergraduate Merit Award is worth £1000 off international tuition fees for each year of study.
A level and IB Scholarship for International Students
- The University of Bedfordshire continually works to attract high calibre students, and in keeping with this we have introduced an A level and IB scholarship, worth £3000 off international tuition fees for each year of study.
Prompt Payment Discount
- A discount of £500 is available for prompt payment of each year’s fees in full, before or at the point of registration, for both undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes.
International Scholarships
In the first year only on either undergraduate or postgraduate degree courses, international students will receive a £1,000 VC Scholarship. An international student progressing to a higher level degree* will receive, in the first year only of the new course, both a £1,000 VC Scholarship and a £500 alumni discount. Additional discounts of £500 are available for prompt payment of the first year fees in full, before or at registration (undergraduate and postgraduate).
