How you learn

You'll learn what it takes to become an events industry professional through informative lectures, engaging seminars and other active learning experiences. Your industry understanding is deepened through specialist visiting industry professionals, field trips, site visits and work experience with external organisations.  You can apply to access placements, internships, and work experience through our relationships with industry professionals and leading events organisations, such as Festival Republic.

On this course, you'll learn the fundamental skills of an event manager such as design, operations, people management, and marketing combined with real world experience opportunities in every year of your course, providing you with a solid foundation for a career in events. Core modules cover event design, marketing, finance, strategy, HR, management, operations, and health and safety. In your final year you put all your skills into practice by planning and delivering a live event for a client.

In addition, you can gain two externally accredited (industry recognised) qualifications; the BIIAB Level 2 Award for Personal License Holders, and an immersive IOSH Managing Events Safely award. Both qualifications are included for free and are valuable additions to your CV.
