Program Overview

What is geology?

Geology is the study of the structure, evolution and dynamics of the Earth and its natural mineral and energy resources - if it hasn't been grown, then a geologist has discovered it. Our society is based on the work of geologists in the hunt for natural resources for energy and materials for modern living. The discipline draws on knowledge from many different aspects of science such as chemistry, biology, and physics as well as other subjects such as geography and environmental science.

What is geoforensics?

Geoforensics is the application of geology to criminal investigations. Geoforensics is a practical subject requiring the use of applied problem-solving, laboratory and field skills to collect and analyse geoforensic data.
