Whether you are considering a career as a chartered accountant in professional practice, industry or the public sector, or you are looking to work in other professional, commercial and industrial areas, our MA Accountancy programme has been designed to ensure you have the knowledges and skills that employers most value.

Over the course of studying our MA Accountancy programme, students can expect to develop a broad understanding of the context in which modern accounting operates, as well as developing accounting expertise in several areas including, but not limited to:

  • Recording and summarising business transactions
  • Preparing and analysing financial statements
  • Analysing and making decisions on business operations
  • Conducting financial analysis
  • Producing and reporting projections
  • Conducting audit
  • Analysing governance issues
  • Gaining awareness of the importance of business ethics.

In addition to these key accounting skills, our MA Accountancy programme allows students to expand their overall skillset through a combination of individual and group work, written reports, presentations and examinations. Throughout this programme, we will develop skills such as:

    Scholarships

    Heriot Watt Scholarship Deadline

    • Make a deposit of £1000 by 30th April and Secure Scholarship up to £6000* (*scholarship amount varies by course)

    Generous merit scholarship for deserving UG students for the upcoming September 2024 intake

    Scholarship Eligibility and Award:

    • Applicants with 65% and above ( depend on the entry requirements of the course)
    • 3000 GBP for students holding an offers with fee range from 18000 up to 24K
    • 4000 GBP for students holding an offers with fee range from 24K and above
    • Scholarship will be offered every year.

    For an example:-

    • Bachelors in Business administration ( Ediburgh business School)
    • If you have 70 % ( min requirement) , course duration would be 4 years and total scholarship will be 3000 X 4= 12,000 GBP
    • If you have 80 % ( min requirement), student will be eligible for advance year entry – 3 years and the total scholarship will be 3000 X 3=9000
    • BBA fee :- 18704- 3000= 15704 net fee per year

    Note:- Advance year entry varies course to course, We accept MOI -refer to the website
