Focus on key themes and issues within ecological, conservation and environmental science – and prepare for a career addressing the challenges that face our natural world.

You’ll choose from themes reflecting our research specialisms in applied ecology, conservation, monitoring & management, ecological theory, environmental change, water and global sustainability.Developing advanced skills in lab work, ecological surveying and geographic information systems, you’ll progress from UK field training to field research in the savannah of South Africa, tropical rainforests of Borneo or the montane environments of the Swiss Alps.

You’ll learn through fieldwork, laboratory analysis, seminars, debates and lectures. You’ll be assessed through consultancy reports, presentations, essays, scientific reports and practical tests. Just 20% of your assessments will be written examinations.

    Global Scholarship
    We are pleased to offer a global scholarship to international students studying on-campus starting in the academic year 2024/25.     Merit Scholarships
    This merit scholarship is a tuition fee waiver designed to reward academic excellence or, a strong creative portfolio, or relevant work experience (where required). For undergraduate students, the scholarship holds a value of £7,500, distributed over the three years of study (£2,500 each year) as a tuition fee waiver. Graduate students will receive a £5,000 scholarship.
