If you’re passionate about making a difference by using education to improve people’s lives, this degree gives you the tools to do just that.

Exploring the varied world of education, you’ll develop your own personal philosophy and career path, whether in teaching or another education-related profession.Sustainability and social justice are central to the course. You’ll examine global issues such as climate change, inequality, migration, changing societies and disability to further explore the role of education. Psychology helps our understanding of individuals, groups and society to enable you to make a positive impact. Optional modules allow you to tailor your degree to suit your interests and career aspirations.

You’ll get real-world experience through our network of over 400 schools in Gloucestershire and beyond. You can complete placements and volunteer in animal shelters, schools, colleges, youth centres, museums and residential homes.

Your practice and professional development will be underpinned by lectures, seminars, tutorials and workshops. You’ll complete a range of assessments such as written assignments, individual and group presentations, case studies, blogs and in-class exams.

    Scholarships

    The University of Gloucestershire Academic Merit Scholarship is a grades-based award, designed to reward academic merit.

    We hope to encourage those who receive the award to maintain a high level of academic achievement. Each scholarship is worth up to £1200, in the form of £400 annually for up to three academic years.

    To be eligible for this new scholarship, students will need to achieve a certain standard in their Level 3 results (128 tariff points or more from at least three full A-levels or equivalent on enrolment), then continue to do well in each year of study.
