Program Overview

A foundation year helps you develop the study skills and self-confidence needed for higher education when you don’t reach the entry requirements for your subject.

This course covers a broad range of performance areas like dance, drama, vocal studies and creative theatre production. You will pursue a variety of subjects spanning a wide range of Performing Arts activities covering performance, technical operation, management and design. This will give you the flexibility to develop your art as you get to grips with the realities and practicalities of performance and production.

You’ll get to participate in shows every year where every aspect of the production, front and back of house, is managed by students.

On this course you'll gain a broad understanding of what it is like working in creative and performing arts industries. There's a strong practical element to the course and you'll be able to refine your artistic talents in dedicated performance spaces that are designed to inspire you. During the foundation year, you'll learn about core aspects of performing arts and you'll gain skills to prepare you to study at degree level.
