Program Overview
The educational program "Pharmacy" includes a set of scientific and practical disciplines that study the problems of creating safe medicaments, their storage, production and manufacture, as well as sales mechanisms, evaluation of the pharmaceutical market. The demand for qualified pharmaceutical personnel is constantly growing.
From the first year the student is immersed in a professional environment where University teachers and practicing specialists of the pharmaceutical business provide an opportunity to develop and improve future professional competencies.
Special subjects that are studied within the educational program:
- Management and economics of pharmacy;
- Pharmaceutical technology;
- Pharmacognosy;
- Medical and pharmaceutical commodity science;
- Quality management system for pharmaceutical development and production of medicines;
- Quality management system in pharmacy organization;
- Pharmacoeconomics.
The study of these disciplines allows the student to choose the direction in the pharmaceutical field that is closer to him in professional and personal interests.
Lectures, seminars, laboratory and practical classes are held in well-equipped classrooms. The department of pharmacy has technological and analytical laboratories, facilities for the production of medicaments and development of pharmaceutical technologies. In a specialized automated classroom classes are held with the use of simulation methods, work in the classroom is as close as possible to the conditions of the pharmacist in the pharmacy organization. A large place in the educational process is the practice of students, which takes place both at the University and on the basis of external pharmaceutical organizations.
Practices
1st year – propaedeutic practice in the pharmacy, allowing to get acquainted with the working conditions in the pharmacy. The pharmacy is considered as a model of the pharmaceutical organization as a whole.
2nd year – practice in botany in the natural and historical park "Bitsevsky forest".
3rd year – practice of pharmacognosy, devoted to the study of the conditions of growth of the medicinal plants, the rules of procurement of plant raw materials, its microdiagnosis.
4th year – practice on general technology is carried out at the pharmaceutical enterprises.
5th year – the longest production practice, which covers all areas of pharmaceutical education, including pharmaceutical technology, quality control of medicines, management and economics, quality management system in pharmacy.
