NC will prepare you with the expertise to begin working in an industry in need of highly-skilled cannabis professionals.

This Commercial Cannabis Production program will provide training in the biology and cultural practices of cannabis production including plant nutrition, environment, lighting, climate control, pest and disease control and cultivar selection.

Programs Highlights

  • Design and implement plant nutrition, lighting and pest management programs.
  • Develop expertise to become a Master Grower and/or Micro Cultivator License holder.
  • Learn craft cannabis growing skills.
  • Analyze crop and adapt to growth conditions/pest management strategies.
  • Comply with regulatory and trade requirements for safe and legal production and packaging.
  • Create production plans for the procurement of raw materials and ensure a consistent supply of high-quality crops.
  • Develop and implement a system to accurately document and track crop production costs. Interpret budgets and financial statements to inform efficient cannabis production operations.
  • Plan and oversee the allocation of staffing and space to support the execution of production plans.
  • Comply with and execute appropriate security protocols.
  • Students will have an opportunity to participate in an internship with a licensed producer or industry-related project.

  • All eligible students who apply from within Canada that hold a study permit applying for the Spring 2024 and Fall 2024 term starts will be eligible to automatically receive a $2,000 scholarship applied in the first term of study after Day 10 has passed.
  • Replaces and renders void any previous entrance scholarship applications
  • Applied to an academic program and is not able to be combined with any other entrance scholarship offers through Niagara College
  • Payment of the fees indicated on students’ invoice less the scholarship amount are required to secure the seat in the program
