Program Overview

George Brown's Theatre Arts – Performance advanced diploma program is an intensive training program that will give you the tools you need for a rewarding career on stage or screen. With industry professionals as your instructors, you'll gain fresh perspectives and first-hand knowledge on what it takes to be successful as a working actor.

Our conservatory-based, integrated curriculum provides a classical training approach through five core skill courses: voice, speech, movement, music, and dance. You'll also enjoy taking classes in improvisation, storytelling, poetry, clowning, stage combat, commedia dell’arte, and many more exciting acting-related topics. Plus, we'll teach you how to prepare for auditions, so when the time comes, you're ready to make your mark.

Our longstanding partnerships with Soulpepper Theatre Company, Tarragon Theatre, and Theatre by the Bay means you'll have exceptional opportunities to immerse yourself in Toronto's bustling theatre scene. We take mentorship seriously, and in your final year, you'll be paired with a seasoned theatre practitioner. This partnership kicks off in your last semester and extends for about a year, with mentors guiding you as you transition from student to professional actor. Not only do students love this program, but our mentors find the experience equally rewarding.
