Sociology is the scientific study of human society. Sociologists attempt to reach a deeper understanding of people and their social environment, offering a special perspective on our daily lives.

At Concordia University of Edmonton, the Sociology program’s primary goal is to help you develop a strong working knowledge of the theory, concepts, methodology, publications, and practices in the field of sociology. By the end of their program, students are able to:

  • Minimum Level of Education Required: To be accepted into this program, applicants must have Grade 12 / High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Five program-specific admission subjects with a minimum overall admission average of 60%
    • English Language Arts
    • Four subjects from History, Languages other than English, Fine Arts, Sciences, and/or other subjects. A maximum of two Fine Arts courses and a maximum of one other subject may be used for admission.
