Program Overview

Increase the aptitudes and information you requirement for work in an assortment of habit settings through down to earth, hands-on learning. The educational program depends on the all-encompassing lessons of the Medicine Wheel, with an emphasis on the underlying drivers of fixation inside Indigenous people group. You will learn both social and standard ways to deal with addictions directing. Preparation in the program ranges from pharmacology to conventional strategies including Sacred Circles, Teaching/Learning Circles, and the utilization of the four holy medications - tobacco, cedar, savvy and sweet grass. 

Understudies may seek their employment in traditional medicine, family resource centers, young offender residential centers and alcohol and drug treatment units. Consequently, understudies will be helpful to develop their knowledge and skills in the areas of Traditional healing, learning and teaching, Cultural specific helping, Challenges facing Indigenous communities, Interviewing, reporting, and documenting, Addictions counseling skills, Relapse preventions, Multiculturalism, Psychology and sociology.
