In 1996, Incarnate Word College became the University of Incarnate Word. Under the feral guidelines, UIW is a Hispanic-Serving Institution. The university attempts to educate people with values developed in a Judeo-Christian tradition so that they become responsible and enlightened citizens. The UIW in San Antonio is one of the foremost all inclusive universities in Texas. The university is the largest catholic university in Texas and is the 4th largest university in the state.
