Mykolas Romeris University is the largest social sciences specialized university in Lithuania, whose most prominent studies and research areas are: law, public security and public administration.

The University has capable and significant core educational science, economics, humanities, communication, politics, psychology, sociology, and management areas.

Mykolas Romeris University offers Bachelor & Master degree programmes in English and is leading institution of higher education in Lithuania, according to criteria of internationalization.

It is the first University in the country, which offered the possibility to choose international joint study programmes leading to double or even triple diplomas. Joint programmes are offered in cooperation with Universities from France, Latvia, Ukraine, even South Korea!

About 500 University students each year participate in international exchange (studies and internships) via Erasmus, Nordplus or other international programmes.

At the present students taking our programmes come from over 74 countries such diverse as USA, Germany, Ukraine, Turkey, Azerbaijan, India and so on.

Study programmes offered at Mykolas Romeris University are continuously renewed and updated, responding to the need of society and providing young people with knowledge and skills necessary to build a successful career.

A Lithuanian degree diploma is recognized in all the countries which have signed the Lisbon Convention - signed by 50 countries and international organizations. That means students can be sure that their qualifications gained in Lithuania will be valid in all these countries.

Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) – The Leader in Social Sciences in Lithuania

Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) is the largest specialized university for social sciences and humanities in Lithuania. It is named after the patriarch of Lithuania‘s Constitutional Law Professor Mykolas Romeris (1880-1945).

Academic Structure and Studies

MRU offers a wide range of social science study programs, making up 95% of its entire academic portfolio (according to the AIKOS database). The university consists of the following academic divisions:

Sudovian Academy – University-Level Education in the Region

On October 1, 2024, Marijampol? College became part of Mykolas Romeris University, forming Sudovian Academy (SUA). This significant step ensures high-quality university education in the S?duva region, allowing local youth to study without leaving their hometown. SUA will serve as a strategic partner for local municipalities, businesses, and educational institutions, contributing to innovation and workforce development both regionally and nationally.

Internationalization and Collaboration

MRU continuously strengthens its international ties with universities worldwide:

  • 26 study programs are conducted in English, including 7 joint or double degree programs.
  • MRU was the first university in Lithuania to launch joint study programs with universities in France, Austria, and Finland.
  • South Korea, Japan, China, and India are MRU’s key academic partners in Asia.
  • Among MRU’s most active partners are Dongseo University (South Korea), Josai University (Japan), and Huazhong University of Science and Technology (China).

MRU conducts extensive research in social sciences and humanities, implementing over 50 international and national projects annually.
