Program Overview

A foundation year helps you develop the study skills and self-confidence needed for higher education when you don’t reach the entry requirements for your subject.

Our BA (Hons) Digital Media degree equips you with all the technical and design skills you’ll need to produce original and striking multimedia projects across multiple platforms.

Guided by a skilled team, you’ll develop an understanding of the history and theory of digital media. You will use specialist facilities including computer suites and professional video and sound recording equipment. You'll have the opportunity to study modules to develop a range of multimedia skills such as web design, computer animation (2D and 3D), digital imaging, visual communications, motion graphics and digital entrepreneurship.

The fast-moving digital media industry offers exciting employment prospects whether you're interested in interactive design, video, animation, photography or graphic design. On this course, you'll develop the technical skills and creative flair to help you become a dynamic, work-ready graduate.

During the foundation year, you'll learn about core aspects of digital media and you'll gain skills to prepare you to study at degree level. As you progress through the degree, you'll learn the theory of multimedia digital production and you'll develop strong practical skills with professional standard hardware and software including Adobe CC and Maya.
