Program Overview

This major provides a coverage of aspects modern computing, depending on the major chosen. It covers fundamental programming and theoretical knowledge. The major teaches both the theoretical and practical aspects of Computing with an emphasis on the skills sought out by the industry. Fundamental knowledge that underpins the areas computer science is taught throughout the major and emphasis is placed on learning the basics before moving onto advanced topics.

What you’ll learn

  • develop, apply, evaluate and manage solutions for software systems, organisations and large scale data sources using the latest advances in analytics and industry-accepted standards, GC1, GC2, GC4, GC6
  • apply and evaluate advanced technical knowledge and its underpinning science and analytical methods from specializations such as Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence to address real world applications, GC1, GC2, GC6
  • communicate effectively to design, apply, manage and evaluate solutions that involve the latest advances in technology, and industry standards and use both written and verbal forms to convey the required knowledge to both experts and non-technical audiences, GC3, GC4, GC5
  • apply the latest technology and devise new approaches to process a wide range of large scale data sources in order to derive new critical knowledge that can be used to address current problems in both Information Technology and related areas, GC1, GC2, GC4, GC6
  • develop innovative computing solutions through the application of leading-edge technologies and expert skills, underpinned by ethics, sustainability, and social responsibility, GC1, GC2, GC5, GC6
  • demonstrate initiative, leadership and ethical practice when working independently and collaboratively, GC2, GC3, GC4, GC5, GC6

    Academic Scholarship (International) 25%

    The Curtin Singapore 25% Academic Scholarship program awards eligible students a scholarship for the following programs:

    • Diploma pathway programs
    • Bachelor's degree programs
    • Graduate Certificate programs
    • Graduate Diploma programs
    • Master's degree programs
    • Study Abroad
    • This scholarship is only applicable to the programs listed in each category above.
    • Entry requirements will vary depending on qualification and must be met to be eligible for the scholarship.
    • The scholarship will be applied to each trimester/semester tuition fee instalment.
    • The scholarship will not be applied to repeated units.
    • The scholarship is not deferrable to any commencements beyond the selected intake.
    • The number of scholarships available is limited and not all eligible students may receive an award.
    • Students in receipt of any other scholarship/bursary from Curtin will not be eligible for this scholarship.
    • To retain eligibility for the scholarship (unless there are exceptional circumstances), the recipient must remain enrolled in the initial course (except for a change of major).
    • Students who apply for Leave of Absence, withdraw or terminate will not be eligible for the continuation of the scholarship.
    • The scholarship is not transferable to any other course or to other Curtin University campuses.
    • Students who receive this scholarship are required to represent Curtin Singapore as a student ambassador.
    Merit Scholarship (International) 30%

    The Curtin Singapore 30% Merit Scholarship program awards eligible students a scholarship for the following programs:

    • Diploma pathway programs*
    • Bachelor's degree programs
    • Graduate Certificate programs
    • Graduate Diploma programs
    • Master's degree programs
    • This scholarship is only applicable to the programs listed in each category above.
    • Entry requirements will vary depending on qualification and must be met to be eligible for the scholarship.
    • The scholarship will be applied to each trimester/semester tuition fee instalment.
    • The scholarship will not be applied to repeated units.

    The Curtin Singapore 50% Tech Scholarship program awards eligible students a scholarship for the following programs:

    • Bachelor of Computing (Cyber Security)
    • Master of Computing
    • Master of Artificial Intelligence
    • Master of Cyber Security
    • Graduate Certificate in Predictive Analytics
    • Graduate Diploma in Predictive Analytics
    • Master of Predictive Analytics – Data Science major
    • Eligible students will receive a 50% scholarship for the program tuition fee.
    • The scholarship will be applied to each trimester/semester tuition fee instalment.
    • The scholarship is only available for new students commencing in the first three intakes of the selected new program.
    • The scholarship will not be applied to repeated units.
    • The scholarship is not deferrable to any commencements beyond the selected intake.
    • The number of scholarships available is limited and not all eligible students may receive an award.
    • Students in receipt of any other scholarship/bursary from Curtin will not be eligible for this scholarship.
    • To retain eligibility for the scholarship (unless there are exceptional circumstances), the recipient must remain enrolled in the initial course.
    • Students who apply for Leave of Absence, withdraw or terminate will not be eligible for the continuation of the scholarship.
