The Certificate in Economics is intended for students who want to show employers that they have taken a number of courses in economics. Course requirements include ECON 201 and 202, any five other economics courses, ENGL 100, and two approved elective courses from several other academic areas.

Economics is a social science concerned with how societies allocate their scarce resources while providing economic well-being for their citizens. It spans key decisions pertaining to the production, distribution and consumption of goods and services.     • Two Language, Math, Science, or Social Science courses
    • One additional course in an approved academic subject
  •  Note: courses listed above must be at the grade 12 level (or equivalent).
  • Economics: applicants majoring in Economics are required to have a minimum 70% in Math

Scholarships

INTERNATIONAL ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP - $3,000

  • All international students applying to an undergraduate degree program will be automatically considered for this award.
  • Students must have an admission average of at least 85%.
  • Students receive their choice of either $3,000 in tuition or housing credit.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT OF DISTINCTION SCHOLARSHIP -  $80,000 ($20,000 x 4 years)

  • 50 international students with the highest high school averages each term will be awarded free on-campus housing and a meal plan. This award is valued at $80,000 for 4 years; 4.5 years for engineering students.
  • All international students applying to an undergraduate degree program directly from high school will be automatically considered for this award.
  • This award is renewable each year as long as students continue to complete 30 credit hours per calendar year and maintain a minimum UGPA of 80%.
