Have you ever wondered how Michelangelo came to produce one of the world’s most influential works on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, or why Andy Warhol’s painting of the Campbell’s soup can became famous? If so, you may find History of Art a fascinating field of study. Here, you’ll probe the history behind the world’s outstanding sculptures, paintings and architecture. You’ll develop skills in critical thinking and visual communication, and come into first-hand contact with selected works of art.

Automatic Entrance Awards
2023-24 International Special Entrance Scholarship Program

The University of Winnipeg offers International Special Entrance Scholarships to new international students entering studies at the UWinnipeg in the 2023-24 academic year following graduation from a high school outside of Canada. We will offer these scholarships automatically during the regular admissions application process; a separate scholarship application is not required. Advanced Placement (AP) & International Baccalaureate (IB) Entrance Scholarships

Application-Required Entrance Awards
President’s Scholarship for World Leaders

The University of Winnipeg President's Scholarship for World Leaders is awarded to international students entering any of the University's divisions for the first-time:
Undergraduate, Graduate, Collegiate, PACE or ELP.


Eligibility
Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be an international student.
  • Must be a student entering their first program at UW.
  • Must have the equivalent of a Canadian 80% grade average, based on Grade 12 academic courses used for admission. UWinnipeg International Credential Evaluators will complete grade conversions.
  • Demonstrates exceptional leadership qualities.
  • Completed admission application to UW by the scholarship deadline.
    • The application for admission is complete only when the admissions office has received all application fees and supporting documentation.
  • Must be registered and maintain full-time course load.


How to apply

Complete an application for admission into The University of Winnipeg.

  • The admissions department will assign you a UWinnipeg Student number when you start an application for admission. Only applications with valid student ID number will be reviewed.

Complete the web application form.

  • Important! Incomplete admission packages will not be reviewed. Each applicant may only submit one application.
  • These are the required documents you must include with this application. Please make sure they are translated in English if in another language.
