Program Overview

Creative Industries Management:

The creative industries need skilled professionals who understand both the business and creative side of media. Sheridan's Creative Industries Management is a specialized eight-month program designed to prepare graduates as managers and entrepreneurs in the arts. With an understanding of management, financing and marketing you'll be ready for a career in film, television, video games and more.

Who should apply to Creative Industries Management?
If you have an academic or professional background in the arts and want to develop your management, leadership and business skills, Creative Industries Management is the program for you. CIM can also help you start your own business, giving you the knowledge and competitive edge to guide you down the path of entrepreneurship.

Hands-on learning
At Sheridan, we believe the best way to learn is by getting to work and making things happen. In this program, you'll be introduced to professional workflow processes in film, television, animation and gaming. You'll learn how to network with creatives and the media. Working with professors, students and industry professionals, you'll see there's no shortage of hands-on learning possibilities.

International Business Management:

The professors who teach Sheridan's International Business courses are personally experienced in international business. They are continually updating the program so that it accurately reflects current international market conditions, challenges and regulations.

Things you'll do and learn

  • Develop a foreign market entry strategy for a specific product or service.
  • Research and analyze potential international opportunities.
  • Create a customized international business plan to support the global initiative of a real company.
  • Learn to navigate cultural differences among trading partners and clients.

Networking and industry connections
In addition to helping you hone your business report writing and presentation skills, your professors will bring in guest speakers who are active in international business, introduce you to networking and industry association events, and teach you how to undertake a search for international employment.

Co-op experience
Eligible students (see About Co-op) can acquire invaluable work experience in the international business field through a work-term cooperative education assignment following completion of the academic portion of the program. This training experience gives you an ideal way to apply what you have learned in class and explore different career paths.
