A-LevelIt is an advanced level of secondary school examinations that serves as a qualification required for admission to the university. 
AccreditationAccreditation refers to the approval of colleges & Universities by the recognized bodies that officially bestows an accepted standard upon them.
BursaryBursary is a grant which enables somebody to study in a university or college.
Community College( In US, Can) A post-secondary institution that offers Associate Degree courses of study and technical & vocational training. An Associate qualification is equal to the 1st two years of a Bachelor’s (Undergraduate) degree. It emphasizes career rather than academic goals.
CourseThe prescribed lessons in an educational curriculum, the syllabus.
CreditsCredits are termed as successfully completed parts of a higher education course.
College(In US) College is an institute for pursuing higher education.
CurriculumCurriculum refers to a course of study at a school or college. 
DeanDean is a chief administrative officer at a college or university. 

DissertationA thesis on a unique topic of research for a Doctorate.
Elective(In US) An elective is a subject that can be chosen from among options as a part of the course of study.
Faculty(US) The teaching staff at college or university.
Fellowship(In the US) A sum paid from an endowment to support advanced study
GPA(In US) GPA refers to the combined average of grades obtained for academic coursework on a scale of 4.0
GRE(In US) GRE is known as a test of verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning and analytical writing that assesses basic abilities for a graduate-level study. It is the Graduate Record of Examination in full. 
Hall of Residence(Br.) A hall of residence is an accommodation for students provided at the university.
HomestayAn arrangement to stay as a guest at someone’s house. 
Ivy leagueA group of eight universities in the New England region that are highly regarded in society for their academic excellence.
Liberal artsThe courses concerned with humanities, fine arts, and language as opposed to technical or professional courses.
Major(In US) The main field of study that the student chooses to specialize in. 
ModuleOne of the separate parts of a course of study.
 SAT

(US) SAT is an examination taken by those seeking to get admission to a college.

It is the Scholastic Aptitude Test in full.

SemesterOne of the two main periods into which the study year is divided.
SeminarA teacher, along with a small group of students, discusses a topic.
ScholarshipScholarship refers to the grant for tuition expenses at school or college.
ThesisAn original research submitted as a part of the course in higher studies.
Transcript(US, Can) An official record of a student’s academic progress.
TuitionThe charges levied for training and instruction.
Work-StudyA provision that enables students to engage in part-time work to help fund the tuition.

FAQ

An Academic Year generally consists of the semesters and trimesters in a college or university. The academic year is dependent on the intake, whether it is Spring (May), Fall(September), or Winter (January) intake. In case of Fall intake, the Academic Year will be from September to June. 
An Acceptance Letter or Letter of Acceptance(LOA) is a letter of confirmation for admission that a student will receive from the institute to which they have applied for. It is called LOA (Letter of Acceptance) in Canada and CAS (Certificate of Acceptance for Studies in UK.
When a student chooses a Co-Op Program, she gets the benefit of working in the major you have chosen for study. In this way, a student gains work experience in their field of study. The Co-op programs give the benefit of working and earning whereas, internships can be both paid and unpaid. 
Fellowship is different from scholarship which means that it might not provide financial assistance to students. It is a reward or assistance (financial) offered to a student for pursuing research and education in a field. 
DLI stands for Designated Learning Institute. These are meant for hosting international students. A student can get Canada Study Permit only after getting an LOA (Letter of Acceptance) from a DLI accredited education institute.
